do re mi...

This new "toy" was waiting for Louise in the mailbox yesterday on making it home from our annual trek to an amazing music festival in the Berry. We spent the weekend amongst instrument makers, musicians and dancers from all over Europe, and Louise had the chance to try out a few real accordeons (half-size, but still worth a small fortune) at the luthiers' stands.

Gilles waltzed and mazurkaed his way through three straight nights, while I soaked up the day-time ambiance: amazing sessions happening under almost every tree, so many warm and interesting faces that could have climbed right out of a big book of tales, delicious cheesy crêpes at a covered wagon-café, terrible jokes and good conversation back at the camp with the long-time festival-goers who have adopted us the past two years, and falling asleep to lovely lilting airs...
