blackwater treatment system

This is our major project lately. G has masterminded this whole affair, but I got to help this week with some earth moving and pipe rigging. The series of three basins will be filled with various stones and aquatic plants, filtering our house's used water from "black" to non-polluting and crystal clear!

crickets and grasshoppers

This day we examined jumper bugs of different sorts and sorted out their differences! These modest peaks in France's oldest range, the Massif Central, are about an hour from home and a prime spot for wild blueberries.

last day of September

We took a Sunday drive, ate lunch at a small town restaurant where the owners gave C and L a whole bowl full of candy with dessert (!!!) and ended up at this lake. It was even warm enough for the girls to take an autumn dip.
