We left the mountains in the middle of a snowstorm only to find ourselves a few hours later running and laughing on an ocean beach near Bayonne in the Basque country. Stayed at our friends Sylvain and Agnes and what luck the next day was Mardi Gras!
Their son Felix turned into an astronaut with a moustache, Louise into a magician.
The Mardi Gras in Bayonne happened to be quite wild with a never ending parade, lots of loud music and what seemed to be a competition for the weirdest costume, hence the bowling bowl and giant pins.
At the end of the day neither Louise or I was ready to leave this dreamlike world.
A strong wind started to blow the confettis away, we spent the next day by the ocean for a last goodbye and went back home to welcome the other traveling half of the family.
