X marks the spot

Pinata, fireworks, games with prizes... Camille would have liked to have it all on her birthday. But since she had to pick just one extravagance, she settled on the treasure hunt. The kids first had to solve 8 riddles and collect a list of 8 mysterious items (see above). This involved braving the hen house for "fire-coloured feathers", plucking "white hairs" from the goat, finding "five-trumpet" flowers and prickly "earth urchins"... These feats accomlished, with the treasure map in hand...

... they charged off to the pirate's lair...
...to unearth the goods, buried in an old tin box. This was a little scary as the pirate had set booby traps with fire crackers, but they bravely held their ground and...


...made off with the loot!

    This reminds me of a certain birthday party at Wilcox Park (in May) a number of years back... I think the landscape is a lot more varied and lovely.. Bon Fete Mia!
