Charly is the newest member of our village. He shares his time between the sheep farm and our neighbor's field, and we are three families to share in caring for him and taking him for walks. Gilles has also started going on weekly "donkey talk 'n' walks" with a friend, to gain experience with these intelligent, fine-stepping and sometimes cantankerous creatures. Charly may someday be able to help us in the potato field, and carry picnic and camping gear, not to mention tuckered out kids, on longer hikes.
