Hello! Summer is here and from Google earth, our our yard must look like a mini-moonscape of rock heaps in the midst of flowery borders and verdant hills.
Work is underway behind the house to lay foundations for our future addition. Gilles, a local mason and our neighbor Piero are doing wonders back there, with jack hammer, iron rods and cement. Some of my lilies had to be emergency rescued just as the sand pile was being dumped . Phew! They blossomed that very afternoon in their new home.
Also, Gilles' workshop is taking shape, and is home to our new hot water heater. Ah! After a winter of luke-warm showers, that is heaven! Gilles' dad spent several days installing it and dealing with the complications (new pipe on one end - burst pipe on other end...etc. etc.).
The girls and I are packing our suitcases, and will be seeing some of you soon. What will all of this look like when we get back??
